“In 2005, Shallaway brought to fruition its project Ann and Seamus. This project was born of Shallaway\u2019s continuing vision that centres on the celebration of and contribution to Newfoundland and Labrador culture through the creation and performance of new artworks. Stephen Hatfield<\/strong> was commissioned for words and music, and Jillian Keiley designed and directed the production. The opera premiered at Memorial University to great success in June 2005. In July 2006 it toured North America, with performances in Ottawa, Toronto, St. Catharine\u2019s and Washington, DC, in the summer of 2008, Shallaway toured Ireland and Denmark giving performances in Waterford, Cork and at the World Choral Symposium in Copenhagen.”<\/p>\n
