The highly anticipated 2018 release from St. John’s musician Mark Bragg.
Hey Rosetta! frontman Tim Baker called [Bragg’s 2018 album] “a gutsy, stripped-back departure for the St. John’s legend…” and one that is “delicate yet gruff, sad yet playful, humble yet grand.”

The Dandelion Few are an Indie folk duo based Dundalk, Ireland and St. John’s, Newfoundland, whose harmony rich music has been often been compared to that of the Handsome Family and Gillian Welch with David Rawlings. Throughout late 2016 and 2017 they acquired extensive mileage having performed various shows in such far flung places as Newfoundland, Scotland and Glastonbury 17. The pair have adopted a strong folk idiom and base much of their music within that sphere touching on contemporary themes whilst also giving light to more traditional subjects such as mining life and near forgotten ghost stories. Always hungry to write and create, the pair completed writing residency in Slovenia for October to explore and potentially add to the folk canon of Ireland & Newfoundland with the theme of Island life in mind. The Dandelion Few’s live performances have been described as “What it would have been like if Townes Van Zandt met the Felice brothers”, a statement they hold with pride as they are set to make a name for themselves in the near future.

To commemorate the one hundredth anniversary, Brian McKenna’s latest feature documentary film Newfoundland at Armageddon tells the story of this epic tragedy. Using a technique he perfected during his 2007 project, The Great War, 21 descendants of soldiers who fought with the Newfoundland Regiment were recruited. They were offered a unique opportunity to relive the experience of their ancestors in trenches built specifically for this event, on a National Defence of Canada rifle range near St. John’s in Newfoundland. Four of the descendants travelled to Europe to follow in their ancestors’ footsteps from landing in England, training in Scotland and finally marching on the field of Beaumont Hamel.
