Originally from Freshwater, Conception Bay, Peter is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland where he completed a Bachelor of Arts (History) and a Bachelor of Education.
Peter has been involved in the province’s music scene for over 40 years, having been a member of musical stage productions, several bands and also worked as a solo act.
Peter is an active songwriter and has just released his first album, “In Case We Forget”. The album includes eight original songs about remembrance, love, heartbreak and hope.
Born and raised in Germany, trained in New York City and now based in Newfoundland, Canada, jazz pianist and composer, Florian Hoefner, draws from a myriad of influences that cumulate in his unique brand of modern jazz. Praised as a “composer-bandleader of insightful resolve” by the New York Times and a “harmonically daring pianist […] reaching toward new sonic territory” by Downbeat, Florian Hoefner has made his mark as an inventive creator and performer of exciting contemporary Jazz. This is his most recent release!
