That’s the approach to life presented by Newfoundland pianist and composer Wade Tarling in his debut solo piano album, Strength. Born in Burnaby, BC, Tarling has been playing the piano for 20 years and has honed his talent under such esteemed musicians as John Medeski, Billy Martin, Chris Woodand John Scofield. In this album, Tarling brings to bear all that fine musical training as well as the experiences he has had performing all over the world.

Formed in 1999 with founding member Steve Abbott (guitars \ vocals), Andrew Fisher (bass) and Jon Hynes (drums). Geinus played their own brand of ambitious noise rock in and around St. John’s NL Canada. In 2001 the “First Time’s Free” EP was released. And in 2004 the band released “Geinus at the Goat Palace” recorded by Ron Anonsen.

In 2006 drummer Alex Pierson signed on and the result “Geinus – Live at Distortion” was released the following year.
After a hiatus the band returned in 2016 with new 4th member Chris Brown as additional guitarist.

Geinus have recorded a brand new LP “Geinus – Keeper” with Michelle Lacour and mastered by Ron Anonsen.

Full of uptempo, poppy anthems that vibrate between the early 80’s and alt-rock 90s, the majority of Paul Brace’s Liars and Actors doesn’t tonally fit with what one might call a “meditation.” But for all intents and purposes, the album is an 8-song attempt to find peace amidst a storm.

The entire concept behind Liars & Actors mirrors Brace’s battle with cancer, and his innermost struggles on how to deal with the sobering reality, while putting on a brave face for friends and family.

He has worked diligently with Young Adult Cancer Canada, attending seminars and retreats, and also aims to give back much of the albums proceeds to young adults who are affected by cancer. Liars & Actors is dedicated to each and every one of them.
