Debut solo EP release! With a broad spectrum of sounds across all the tracks, as well as thought provoking lyrics that allow many interpretations, there is a message and a sound for everyone in this collection of tracks.

Is Your Rhubard Up marks the 15the album release for The Irish Descendants since 1990. Recorded in February of 2018, it is the band’s first full length studio recording in ten years. About time we say and so it is with great pride they present their latest work. The sucess and logevity of The Irish Descendants, now in their 28th year is solely the result of a very loyal fan base that has since crossed two generations and who still faithfully continue to come out to shows and support the group. 

In the process of making Is Your Rhubarb Up  they all piled into the studio/living room of Robert Moran (brother to patrick) who let them use his house and who has a great set of unbiased ears and started in. They came out two weeks later a bit worn but very satisfied with the results. They hope you all will wnjoy what they have come up with. And for the best results… Play it as ofen as possible!

Fairgale and Shanneyganock drummer Brad Tuck released his first solo album, “On These Waters,” on May 25.
An album of traditional roots music, with a splash of rock, “On These Waters” features the hit single, “Rise Up,” a favourite on local radio stations like VOCM, OZFM, K-ROCK, getting airplay on the Irish NL Show, Homebrew and Jiggs & Reels.
Designed by local graphic designer Stephen Green, Tuck’s own mother hand-wrote the back cover’s tracklisting.

“Hold Fast,” the highly anticipated second full-length album from local duo Fortunate Ones was released on Friday, May 25th, Old Farm Pony Records.
A fresh approach, a new direction and compelling results, Fred’s will be spinning this colorful new recording in high rotation in the months to come. Just look at those smiling faces on the album cover!

“[Hold Fast] marks the follow-up to their 2015 debut The Bliss, though the band did also release a Christmas EP in 2016 that caught the ear of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Hold Fast was produced, engineered and mixed by Daniel Ledwell at Echo Lake in Nova Scotia, then mastered by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel in Toronto. It features songwriting collaborations from Canadian heavyweights Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, Tim Baker of Hey Rosetta! and Meg Warren of Repartee. Jim Bryson, the Good Lovelies, Alexa Dirks, Mike Belyea and Kinley Dowling were also enlisted for additional musical contributions.”  -Exclaim!

Young local rockers Vagabond released their first album “Neoteric” on May 19, 2018.
Heading out on the road with their brand new release, Vagabond will be performing at The Fat Cat in St. John’s on June 15. This show kicks off a Newfoundland tour that will see the band perform in St. John’s, Conception Bay South, Brigus, and Stephenville.
